Cleopatra VII Philopator
Cleopatra was a Greek mystic who was the daughter of Ptolemy, one of the generals of Alexander the Great. She spoke fluently the language of the local people and had Egypt's future at heart.
There is much written on the life and death of Cleopatra but mostly she was misunderstood by the authors and even the historians.
The best book on Cleopatra is written by Talbot Mundy, titled "Queen Cleopatra".
Here is what a reader says about it on Amazon (click to go there)....
"This book is wonderful, you can almost smell the markets, hear their languages being spoken. One gets to view historical characters as they might have lived. From Cleopatra to Apollodorus to Caeser himself, these characters are people you want to know more about. Talbot Mundy doesn't let you down, he brings a chariot race to life which is unequaled, to this fans delight!"
Cleopatra the enchantress
Cleopatra used sexuality as a magical tool. She was described by the contemporary historians as a sorceress, a priestess of Isis who was willing to enchant powerful men to serve her people and Egypt.
